Welcome to the Black Cat’s Cycling Whiskers. My name is Tim Ramsden from www.blackcatcyclecoaching.com and this is my coaching blog. I’m a professional cycling coach and have been for four years now. In that time I’ve helped a lot of riders go faster…and that’s the whole point, isn’t it?
On these pages you will find updates about riders I am currently coaching and gain an insight into the cycle coaching world in the new post-Tour and Olympic golden age of cycling in the UK. Hopefully you will come away with some fresh ideas about how coaching can make you a better rider through making the most of the time you have.
I have coached a wide range of riders: from beginners through to experienced veterans by way of triathletes, sportive riders, road and MTB racers, time triallists and young developing talent like the subject of my next post. I view coaching with a passion and as something that grows with me. I am constantly learning about all aspects of the process and strongly believe that if there is a secret to being a successful coach it is rooted in critical thinking and reflection about process and outcomes. But wait! If this is too much logical thinking for you then please don’t click away yet though! GSOH is also a pre-requisite and, most of all, you have to like and respect your clients and always remember that we all love riding our bikes and have all had that downhill feeling that brings a grin to your face on even the toughest days……….
